By now, everybody understands the importance of eating a healthy diet. Without a strong foundation based on proper nutrition, staying healthy and fighting aging becomes an uphill battle.
One of the main factors in determining what constitutes a nutritious diet is the quality of the food being eaten. In my opinion, eating 100% organic is absolutely mandatory. I’ve been eating an all-organic diet for many years, decades in fact. I can say without a doubt that the appearance, flavor, and nutrition level of organic produce is far superior to conventionally grown produce.
There has been a lot of debate over the years about eating organic; the main stream media arguing that it’s more expensive and also not really any more nutritious than conventional. While everybody is arguing about the superiority or inferiority of organic versus conventional produce, and how much it costs, we are overlooking a much more important reason to eat organic exclusively.
The worlds’ largest producer of conventional produce is Monsanto. Not only does Monsanto create genetically modified produce, they use very dangerous pesticides and herbicides in the growing of their produce. I’m not going to focus on GMO’s right now; instead I want to bring to your attention Roundup, Monsanto’s heavily used herbicide. This herbicide contains glyphosate, and this dangerous chemical has been found to disrupt normal bodily functions and induce disease. In fact, more and more researchers and starting to believe that glyphosate may be one of the main culprits in the development of many modern diseases, including autism, allergies, depression, obesity, gastrointestinal diseases, cardiovascular disease, cancer, infertility, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, and more.
If you’re eating genetically modified conventional produce, or any kind of non-organic processed foods, you’re ingesting glyphosate. More and more of the conventionally grown produce available in supermarkets is genetically modified. I don’t think all of it is, but most is; and I’m not sure if there is a way to find out for sure if conventional produce has been modified or not. Just stick with organic and don’t gamble on anything conventionally grown. Also, keep in mind that any non-organic vegetable oils, soybean oils, and high fructose corn syrup are highly contaminated with glyphosate as well. Now, these items should be avoided at all costs anyway, but be warned that if you’re eating any processed conventional foods like frozen dinners, boxed meals, etc., these items are very toxic due to the high glyphosate levels found in the oils and sweeteners used in their creation. This would also apply to foods eaten at practically every restaurant out there.
Not only is glyphosate implicated in a number of serious diseases, it can also effect our health and longevity in other ways as well. Glyphosate can cause nutritional deficiencies, increased toxin exposure, and gut dysbiosis.
The good news is that by sticking to a 100% organic diet and avoiding all processed foods we can virtually eliminate any exposure to this dangerous chemical. The bad news is that in our modern world, is becoming harder and harder to avoid contact with this herbicide. I’ve even had somebody tell me that it’s practically impossible to avoid glyphosate completely these days.
I do have a solution, though. First and foremost, do whatever it takes to eat an organic diet, try to avoid processed foods, and choose wisely when out at restaurants. Second, add a high quality MSM supplement to your diet. One of the most destructive things glyphosate does is disrupt the sulfur cycle. MSM is a potent organic source of sulfur and should be taken daily. Without sufficient sulfates in the body, the body cannot effectively remove toxins from our body, leaving us vulnerable to all kinds of potential damage. By inhibiting the sulfur cycle, glyphosate hinders our ability to detoxify our body successfully. So, by eating a pure, unadulterated form of sulfur regularly, we can effectively defend our bodies against all kinds of toxins, including glyphosate.
I highly recommend adding MSM to your regimen today. It needs to be taken in powder form, and should also be free of any hidden flow agents, as the potency of the product is greatly reduced if not in it’s pure form. The best way to tell if the MSM powder you’ve purchased is good is if it’s clumpy. If adulterants have been used in its processing, it will not clump at all and will just be a loose powder. MSM has a bitter taste, and taking it in powder form is far superior to tablets due to the poor absorption rate. Take 1 teaspoon per 100 pounds of body weight. Place on the tongue and let it dissolve. I like to swish it around for 30 to 60 seconds once dissolved, as it’s great for oral health as well. Have a glass of water or juice to clear the bitter taste from your mouth once done. For best results, take 30 minutes before eating.
