Applying makeup is easy once you have prepared your face well.
Because your skin is acne prone and oily, use a gel based cleanser because this will provide the most potent and gentle cleansing. Clearasil Gel Cleanser is great for acne prone skin. Wet your face with warm water, and pump one pump of the cleanser in your hands. Use your hands to work the cleanser into a foam or lather – then, work the cleanser around your face and then rinse with warm water. With an ice cube, run the ice around your nose, chin, and cheeks – the cold constricts the pores. Once a week, exfoliate your skin with an acne face wash such as Olay Warming Scrub.
Toning your skin removes impurities so use an all-natural toner such as Witch Hazel and squirt it on a cotton pad. Swipe the cotton pad around your face and focus on problem areas. You’ll be able to see the dirt coming off your face.
No matter what type of skin you have, you always need to moisturize. They sell moisturizers for all skin types and you just have to look for the right one. A great moisturizer for acne and oily skin is Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Moisturizer. Pump 2 pumps into your hands and work through your face and your neck.
Before applying makeup – using a primer will do wonders for you. You can find primers from expensive brands such as Smashbox…but as a cheaper alternative, you can use Monistat Chafing Cream as a primer. Use a small amount, and evenly apply it to your face — this will act as a primer and fill in all of your lines and indents. It makes foundation go on smoother.
At the end of the day, use a makeup remover such as Olay Mascara + Make-Up Remover cream and work it into your skin. Wait about 10 minutes and then wash your face with the same gel cleanser that you used in the morning. Again, tone your skin.
