When talking about anti-aging advice most probably you have heard it all before, but the best anti-aging tip for me is laughter. These days we all are more savvy about what to do and what not to do to keep ourselves looking and feeling younger for as long as possible.
OK, here I’m going to give you some anti-aging tips that you are familiar with and some anti-aging information that you may not be aware of.
Diet Is Important
First to keep healthy is really important to follow an antioxidant diet. Why? Because antioxidants help to fight free radicals.
Free radicals can damage healthy cells, diminishing the body’s ability to fight diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and heart related conditions among others.
Having a healthy diet will have a positive impact on your health and your skin. Is never too late to start looking younger and feeling healthier. Find out here the full impact of antioxidants and free radicals on our bodies.
Having any kind of physical activity will work wonders for just everyone. Exercise will give you more energy and increase blood circulation, reducing the risks of heart attack.
Is effective for stronger and leaner muscles and bones. It helps with depression and panic attacks. It helps to burn fat, reducing body weight, which is always a bonus.
Exercise is a very effective anti-aging advice and is recommended for optimal health, just bear in mind that if you have any kind of health problem you should consult your doctor first.
Low impact exercises are recommended for the elderly and for those who have joint problems. Things like walking, tai chi, yoga, Pilates and swimming are all low impact activities.
Also remember that if you are a beginner you need to go easy at first. You should exercise at least 30 minutes every day, so ditch the couch and start moving!
Smoking Is Not Allowed
Stop smoking now. Smoking increase free radicals formation and is one of the worst offenders for your health. I know is not easy to give it up, I just to be a smoker myself, but if you want to reduce the chances of tobacco related illnesses such as cancer and heart attack you should give it up now.
Another added benefit is that your skin’s texture and appearance will improve getting rid of smoking wrinkles, not to mention the money you will save.
Good Night Sleep
Good anti-aging advice- Sleeping the right amount of hours is essential for optimum mental health and energy. As we get older melatonin release decreases and this is the cause why many elderly people get less sleep. If you are having trouble getting enough sleep try to exercise during the day and eat carbohydrates dinners.
Over the counter pills can be effective, but is recommended that you consult your doctor first to avoid possible side effects. Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
If you are feeling irritable and moody after a bad night sleep try to go for a walk and have an afternoon nap.
Don’t Forget Sunscreen
When it comes to aging skin the best anti-aging advice is using sunscreen to protect the skin from ultraviolet light. The sun is the number one factor that make the skin age faster, so don’t go out without sunscreen on your skin, even if is cloudy.
Some consequences of sun overexposure are: diminish collagen and elastin production, increases the formation of age spots and skin pigmentation, ages the skin and produces more wrinkles, increases the risk of skin cancer and other skin conditions.
Anti-aging Advice for Skin
If you want to put your best face forwards, having a skin care routine is essential. Use products aimed to your skin type and apply these products to your skin morning and night. Don’t forget to cleanse the face and neck before applying the products with a massage.
Massage the skin from the centre of your face towards the edge. Repeat for every part of your face: forehead, cheeks, eyes, chin, jaw and neck. I find the best results when using rosehip oil or vitamin E oil.
Another anti-aging tip that is important on my daily skin care regime is facial exercise. This is not a joke and I can’t address enough the importance of a good facial exercise program to give your face and neck a natural facelift.
And last but not least; hydrate your skin from the inside with water. I don’t think drinking 2 or 3 liters a water a day is beneficial or realistic, but I drink 4 glasses a day and it works for me.
The first thing in the morning I do is to drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice. It helps to cleanse the body and clarify the skin. The other 3 glasses I drink through the day, during and after exercise or I just drink herbal teas in winter.
