10 Ways to Treat the Acne Scars Ayurveda

Acnes are not only embarrassing when they are on, but they also leaves scars behind—both emotional and physical reminders of their presence. While emotional scars can only be treated with time, it is possible to treat the physical scars. However, pimple scars are a little stubborn as they doesn’t go easily.

It may take some time to kill these scars but they definitely go away. But before taking a look at the various acne scars Ayurveda treatments, one should realize that prevention is always better than cure. These scars are formed when the acne is scratched, itched or rub continuously. Although this is not the only reasons for the scar, most of the scars occur because of the rough treatment of the pimple.

The scars normally goes away with time, but the whole process can be aggravated by prolonged exposure to sunlight. So care should be taken to avoid the sun. In case it is necessary to go in sun, one should use the sunscreen lotion to negate its affect.

Many of the acne scars ayurveda treatments use the same ingredients as that of acne treatment. Moreover, this stuff is easily available in every kitchen, making it cheap as well as the best option for scar treatment.

Sandalwood and Rose Water: While sandalwood has the soothing properties, rose water is known for nourishing the skin. Together they make a combination which not only gives a glowing skin, but also treats the scars left behind by acne. To apply make paste by mixing sandalwood and rosewater and leave on for 15-20 minutes. After it has dried, wash the face.

Lemon Juice: Like in case of acme, lemon juice can also treat the scars left behind by acne. Lemon acts as a natural bleach and its Vitamin C can rebuild the collagen. Hence when applied regularly, it brightens the skin and helps in fading away of scars. Lemon juice can be applied directly on the skin with finger tips or a cotton ball. In case of sensitive skin, the lemon juice shall be mixed with rose water. Once applied, leave it for ten minutes and then wash the face with water.

Fenugreek seeds: Fenugreek is an excellent scar-removing product because of its anti-inflammatory and soothing action on the skin. To apply this, boil a few seeds of fenugreek into a little water for around 10-15 minutes. Once cooled the water can be strained and directly applied on the scarred area with the help of a cotton wad. Another way to apply the fenugreek seeds is to make a paste out of these seeds and apply them directly to the affected area.

Baking Soda: Baking soda has a similar effect on acne as it has on the acne scars. Its exfoliating property works wonder in lightening the scars left behind by acne. It can be applied on the affected area in the form of paste. Mix two parts of baking soda with one part of water to make paste. Apply on the affected area and leave it for around 10-15 minutes. Wash the face and pat dry.

Honey: Honey is not only sweet in taste, it is sweet for the skin too. It can work wonders with the acne scars. It acts as an antiseptic and mitigating operator to remove those scars. In order to apply honey, either one can apply it directly and leave it overnight, or one can add honey to some of the face pack and apply to the affected area.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple Cider Vinegar is an astringent. It helps in removing the dead cells off the surface of the skin. This makes it a perfect treatment for the scars. But since it is highly active, care should be taken while applying the vinegar. It should not be applied directly to the area but instead it should be mixed with water or honey before application.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is a wonderful antiseptic which works well on the acne scars too. It is better to use the fresh aloe vera gel directly from the leaves of the plant rather than buying one from the store. Peel the outer layer of the aloe vera leaf to get to its gel like substance. This gel can be directly applied to the affected area.

Potato: Like in case of acne, potato can also help in the treatment in case of scars. The procedure of application is quite simple. Just cut a potato and rub it over the affected area. Keep it on some 10-15 minutes and wash the face. This will remove excess oil from the skin and also help in dimming the scars left behind. It is important to use a moisturizer after this treatment as potato sucks up the oil from the skin and will leave the skin quite dry.

Tomato: Rubbing of tomato over the face is also a tried and tested formula for removal of the scars. Its acidic nature ensures that the scars are faded with time. But this is a remedy which needs to be implemented everyday for the best effects.

Neem Leaves: Neem leaves play an important role in Ayurvedic treatments and same is true for acne scars ayurveda treatment as well. With their antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties, these leaves not only treat the acne problems, they are also the solution for myriads of the skin problem. These leaves can be applied directly after crushing them with fingers on the affected area. After 10-15 minutes, these leaves should be taken out and then the face should be washed.

One should always remember that treatment of acne scar is a slow process. These scars lighten with time and then they finally fade away. So, following a regular regime is quite important while following these treatments. Also, different treatments react differently on different skins. So these treatments should be tried with care. In case of inflammation or extreme burning sensation, it is better to give up the treatment immediately rather than waiting for the stipulated time.
